The Akron Acorns took root in 1887 as part of the Ohio State League, bringing early professional baseball to Akron, Ohio during a time when the sport was still carving out its identity. With a name that leaned into the city’s wooded surroundings, the Acorns were a brief but memorable part of baseball’s frontier days. This design is part of our old school retro baseball series, with original branding reimagined by m00nshot for the forgotten Minor League teams of yesteryear.
