Seattle's Clamdiggers played in the Pacific Northwest League beginning in 1898, representing a city still finding its identity after the Great Fire. Baseball in Seattle during that era was rawer, closer to the docks and the timber mills. Teams like the Clamdiggers gave a young port town something to rally around before the big leagues ever looked north. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
