The Duluth Freezers took the field in 1886 as part of the Northwestern League, earning a place in baseball history as one of Minnesota’s earliest professional teams. Known for their icy endurance and gritty northern spirit, the Freezers embodied the toughness of a city that thrived on cold weather and hard work long before indoor stadiums existed.
