Muscatine's Wallopers took the field in 1912 as part of the Class D Central Association. Organized baseball gave this small Iowa river town something beyond the pearl button factories to care about. Minor league clubs were the soul of their communities, and the Wallopers gave Muscatine summer nights worth remembering. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Gray circular badge reads "MUSCATINE, IOWA" across the top arc, with "CLASS D," "CENTRAL ASSOC.," and "EST. 1912" spaced around the ring in white uppercase text. A vintage cartoon baseball player in a white pinstriped uniform swings a wooden bat in an exaggerated stance. Flowing orange script reading "Wallopers" with a decorative tail spans the center of the emblem.
