Castle Lanes stood at 1750 Geneva Avenue in San Francisco, a 24-hour refuge for night owls and league bowlers alike. Opening during the mid-century bowling boom of the 1950s, it became a neighborhood anchor in the Outer Mission. Some alleys were just businesses, but Castle Lanes was where San Francisco's working-class families built their weeknight rituals.
Part of our Retro Bowling collection, featuring the defunct alleys of yesteryear.
