Rose Bowl on West Dundee Road stood as Buffalo Grove's late night gathering place from the mid-twentieth century onward. Open until 4 a.m. with entertainment nightly, the Huddle Lounge inside drew crowds long after the lanes went quiet. Some bowling alleys just kept score, but this one kept a whole suburb connected. Part of our Retro Bowling collection, featuring the defunct alleys of yesteryear.
The Details:
Curved red script reads "Buffalo Grove" above bold red block letters reading "ROSEBOWL," with red neon-style swooping lines and small cloud shapes surrounding the sign. A vintage hand-drawn roadside marquee depicts a bowling pin and ball alongside text reading "The Huddle Lounge," "OPEN TO 4A.M.," "ENTERTAINMENT NIGHTLY," and "100 WEST DUNDEE ROAD, Buffalo Grove, ILLINOIS."
