Manitowoc's Shipbuilders took the diamond in 1928, representing a Lake Michigan port city where baseball and blue collar pride were inseparable. Playing in the Wisconsin State League, they carried the identity of a town built on maritime labor. Brief seasons still left a lasting mark on Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
