Opening in 1952 on the Las Vegas Strip, the Sands became the beating heart of the Rat Pack era. Its Copa Room drew the biggest names in show business, and Hollywood followed them into the desert. Billed as A Place in the Sun, it stood until 1996, closing a golden chapter of Sin City. Part of our Vintage Las Vegas collection, celebrating the defunct golden era venues of yesteryear.
The Details:
Rust and tan stippled illustration depicts the Sands Hotel tower with a rooftop "Sands" sign, a wavy-rayed sun at upper left, a low casino with arched windows, and a canopy entrance marked "Sands." Small rust capitals read "THE" above brush script "Sands," with "LAS VEGAS, NEVADA" below.
