Bay Lanes stood at 4243 North Euclid Avenue in Bay City, Michigan, a mid-century gathering spot where league bowling and cocktail lounge culture went hand in hand. Places like this, built in the 1950s and 1960s, were the social anchors of small industrial towns. They gave working families a place to belong on weekday nights. Part of our Retro Bowling collection, featuring the defunct alleys of yesteryear.
The Details:
Red and gold rectangular letter panels mounted on a mid-century pole sign structure spell "BAY" above "LANES" in bold block type. A red banner beneath reads "COCKTAIL LOUNGE" in white, with red text reading "4243" followed by "NO. EUCLID AVE." and "BAY CITY, MICH." in dark type. A small rotary telephone illustration sits beside "684-7361" at the bottom.
