Jefferson City's Convicts joined the Missouri Valley League in 1902, bringing Class D baseball to Missouri's capital. Named with the blunt humor of a prison town, the club gave a small city its own place in the national pastime. Brief as their run was, they proved even the bottom rung of pro ball could mean everything.
Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
A diamond field emblem reading "ESTD 1902" sits above serif text reading "JEFFERSON CITY, MISSOURI." A vintage hand-drawn batter in a striped uniform stands beside bold distressed text reading "CONVICTS" with a swooping underline, a baseball in flight nearby. Smaller text below reads "CLASS D MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL" and cursive reads "Missouri Valley League."
