Lake Linden's Lakers took the field in 1905 as part of Michigan's Copper Country Soo League, a Class D outfit born from the mining towns of the Upper Peninsula. Baseball gave those hardworking communities something to rally around when the shifts ended. Some clubs vanish from the record books, but they never really leave the towns that loved them. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Arched distressed cream text reads "LAKE LINDEN" above a large serif letter "L" beside a vintage baseball batter in mid-swing. Flanking text reads "ESTD 1905," "COPPER COUNTY SOO LEAGUE," and "CLASS D." Bold distressed text below reads "LAKERS BALL CLUB" with cursive script reading "Lake Linden, Mich."
