Opening in 1953 on the Las Vegas Strip, the Algiers offered travelers a quiet desert oasis without a casino floor. Through five decades of implosions and rising megaresorts, the modest motel endured as a true survivor of the original Strip. Its closure in 2004 severed one of the last authentic links to 1950s Las Vegas. Part of our Vintage Las Vegas collection, celebrating the defunct golden era venues of yesteryear.
