Landmark Hotel opened in 1969 near the Las Vegas Strip, after nearly a decade of stalled construction that tested a city's faith. Rising as Nevada's tallest building, it debuted the same summer America reached the moon. Two decades of headliners and high rollers followed until 1990. A 1995 implosion took a piece of old Las Vegas with it. Part of our Vintage Las Vegas collection, celebrating the defunct golden era venues of yesteryear.
The Details:
Landmark Hotel tower artwork in distressed blue and white shows a saucer-shaped cap, an "L" spire, and a cylindrical shaft fading at the bottom. Distressed white flared sans-serif capitals read "LANDMARK." Bright blue italic swash lettering reads "Above All" above small, widely spaced white capitals reading "IN LAS VEGAS."
