The Dunes opened in 1955 as an Arabian Nights fantasy rising from the desert on the Las Vegas Strip. Its promise of an oasis captured an era when Sin City sold escape to postwar America. Headliners, high rollers, and honeymooners filled its showrooms and tables for nearly four decades. Its 1993 implosion closed a chapter no resort has replaced. Part of our Vintage Las Vegas collection, celebrating the defunct golden era venues of yesteryear.
The Details:
