Barbary Coast Hotel & Casino opened in 1979 at the corner of Flamingo Road and the Las Vegas Strip. Surrounded by giants, it remained a modest gambling hall named for old San Francisco's rowdy waterfront. Regulars valued its intimacy over spectacle, and it held that corner for nearly three decades. Few places held onto old Las Vegas so faithfully. Part of our Vintage Las Vegas collection, celebrating the defunct golden era venues of yesteryear.
