Castle Lanes stood at 1750 Geneva Avenue in San Francisco, a 24-hour refuge for night owls and league bowlers alike. Opening during the mid-century bowling boom of the 1950s, it became a neighborhood anchor in the Outer Mission. Some alleys were just businesses, but Castle Lanes was where San Francisco's working-class families built their weeknight rituals. Part of our Retro Bowling collection, featuring the defunct alleys of yesteryear.
The Details:
A yellow square at the top contains black script reading "L & L" above a black marquee shape with white cursive text reading "Castle." Pink and magenta block letters spell "LANES" below, flanked by geometric magenta lines and yellow accents.
