Kona Kai Chateau stood along Route 24 in Union, New Jersey, part of the Polynesian restaurant craze that swept suburban America through the 1960s. Places like this transformed strip mall stretches into tropical escapes, serving mai tais and pu pu platters to families who'd never seen the South Pacific. Some neighborhoods still remember the glow. Part of our Vintage Tiki collection, celebrating the defunct golden era bars of yesteryear.
