Aloha Room stood at 353 East Coast Highway in Newport Beach, a tiki bar tucked inside the Beach Boy during the mid-century Polynesian craze of the 1950s and 1960s. Southern California embraced the South Pacific dream harder than anywhere else. Places like this turned a stretch of coast highway into an escape route to another world entirely. Part of our Vintage Tiki collection, celebrating the defunct golden era bars of yesteryear.
The Details:
Navy blue bamboo-textured block lettering reads "ALOHA" above "Room" in cursive script. A hand-drawn hula dancer beside a palm tree and a carved tiki totem flank a Pacific Ocean map labeled "MIDWAY ISLANDS," "HAWAII," "OKINAWA," "HONOLULU," "SAMOA," "BALI," and "PAGO PAGO." Bold vintage text below reads "at the BEACH BOY" and "353 E. COAST HWY, NEWPORT BEACH, CALIF."
