Ambassador Hotel stood at the crossroads of Los Angeles glamour and tragedy from 1921 until its demolition in 2005. Wilshire Boulevard's grandest address hosted the Cocoanut Grove nightclub, six Academy Award ceremonies, and decades of Hollywood royalty. Some buildings hold so much history that losing them feels like losing a piece of the city itself.
