Augusta's Georgians joined the South Atlantic League around 1920, playing Class B ball in eastern Georgia. Minor league clubs in small Southern towns were the lifeblood of the sport. Every summer evening, the ballpark gave Augusta something bigger than the box score. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
