Ballinger's Cats took the field in 1947 as a Longhorn League club in small West Texas. Minor league baseball gave tiny towns a professional team to call their own. In an era before television claimed every evening, communities like Ballinger lived and died with every pitch. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
