Bowlium stood at Sheridan and Montrose in Chicago, a midcentury bowling palace that earned its name as the bowler's paradise. Opening in the 1950s, it arrived during the golden age of American league bowling. Neighbors came for the lanes but stayed for the community, a gathering place where Chicago's North Side found its weeknight rhythm. Part of our Retro Bowling collection, featuring the defunct alleys of yesteryear.
