Brooklyn's Atlantics were among the earliest powerhouses in organized baseball, competing in New York's National Association of Professional Baseball Players beginning in 1872. Capitoline Grounds served as their home field, a sacred patch of dirt where the professional game took root. Few clubs did more to shape baseball's origins in Brooklyn. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Distressed navy block text reads "BROOKLYN" above a vintage hand-drawn illustration of a batter mid-swing, flanked by "1872" and "BROOKLYN NEW YORK." Ornate navy script reads "Atlantics" with a bat and ball extending from the lettering. Weathered navy text below reads "CAPITOLINE GROUNDS" and "NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL PLAYERS."
