Brownsville's Charros took the field in 1910 as part of the Southwest Texas League, bringing organized Class D baseball to the Rio Grande Valley. Border towns like Brownsville lived and breathed the game in ways bigger cities took for granted. Baseball wasn't just entertainment down there, it was the thread that held a community together. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Distressed cream arched text reads "BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS" above large flowing cursive script reading "Charros," integrated with a vintage hand-drawn illustration of a mustachioed man in a wide sombrero. Below, weathered text reads "ESTABLISHED in 1910" followed by "SOUTHWEST TEXAS LEAGUE" and "CLASS D BASEBALL CLUB" above a decorative swoosh tail.
