Corpus Christi's Seagulls took the field in 1976 as part of the Gulf States League, a short-lived independent circuit across Texas and Louisiana. Minor league ball along the Gulf Coast carried a gritty, salt-air charm that bigger cities couldn't replicate. Some teams lasted decades, but the Seagulls burned brief and bright. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
