Dallas Tigers baseball belonged to the earliest days of the Texas League, when a young city on the Trinity River was still finding its footing. Founded in 1889, the club gave Dallas a reason to gather on summer evenings long before any major league franchise arrived. Minor league ball was the only ball then, and it mattered deeply.
