Fairmont's Black Diamonds took the field in 1907 as part of the Western Pennsylvania League, representing a coal country town where the game meant everything. Baseball in early twentieth century West Virginia was more than sport. Community pride was forged in the same grit that built the mines and railroads surrounding Fairmont. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Curved distressed white text reads "FAIRMONT" above bold slab-serif lettering reading "BLACK DIAMONDS," with "FAIRMONT, WEST VIRGINIA" in smaller type below, all framed by decorative curved lines. A white diamond shape at center contains "Western Pennsylvania League," flanked by "Estd." in italic script and "1907." Lower curved white text reads "BASEBALL CLUB" completing a badge-style circular layout.
