Fargo's Divorcees took the diamond in 1897 as part of the Red River Valley League, a Class F outfit in North Dakota's earliest days of organized ball. Small town clubs like this one held communities together long before radio or television. Summer evenings belonged to baseball, and nobody asked for anything else. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Red text reads "CLASS F" and "BASEBALL" beside a small North Dakota state outline with an arrow pointing to "FARGO, ND," flanking a cartoon baseball player in a pinstriped uniform and blue cap mid-swing. Bold navy block letters read "DIVORCEES" above "ESTD. 1897." Navy cursive script reads "Red River Valley" and "League" beside a baseball illustration.
