Grand Forks fielded the Flickertails in the Central International League starting in 1912, bringing Class C baseball to the North Dakota prairie. Named after the Richardson ground squirrel native to the region, the club gave a small city something to rally around on summer evenings. Minor league ball in towns like Grand Forks was the soul of American baseball. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.

The Details:

Arched distressed white text reads "GRAND FORKS" above "EST." and "1912" flanking a cartoon orange squirrel mascot wearing a baseball cap, posed mid-stride with a large bushy tail. Bold retro white display text reads "FLICKER TAILS" below the mascot. Smaller distressed white text reads "CENTRAL INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE" and "CLASS C BASEBALL CLUB," with tan italic script reading "Grand Forks, N. Dak."
