Hancock's Copper Country was mining territory, and in 1905 the Infants took the field in Michigan's Copper County Soo League. Baseball gave those rugged Upper Peninsula towns something beyond the mines to rally around. Teams like the Hancock Infants carried local pride through long northern summers. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
