Homestead's Steel Workers took the field in 1905, representing a Pennsylvania mill town where baseball and industry were inseparable. Competing in the Ohio-Penn League's Class C ranks, they carried the pride of a community built on sweat and steel. Some teams played for glory, but Homestead played for the workers who filled the stands after long shifts.
