Hotel Elwell in downtown Las Vegas opened in 1948 after being built in 1946 and originally offered 88 rooms with a casino coffee shop and bar added in 1951. It expanded in 1954 to a four story lodging house before being bought by the Pioneer Club in 1965 and renamed the Pioneer Club Hotel then becoming the Golden Hotel in 1969. It closed and was torn down in 1984 to make way for a parking garage. This retro vintage design was inspired by the vintage hotels and resorts of yesteryear.
