Jack Dempsey's Broadway Restaurant opened in the 1930s between 49th and 50th Streets in Manhattan. More than a dining room, it was a living monument to heavyweight glory. Tourists and New Yorkers lined up not just for the steaks, but for a handshake from the champ himself.
