Jade Isle brought Polynesian escapism to suburban Scotch Plains, New Jersey, during the tiki craze of the 1960s. Chinese and Polynesian restaurants like this one gave small town America a taste of something exotic and faraway. They were neighborhood landmarks, places where celebrations happened and memories were made over mai tais and pu pu platters. Part of our Vintage Tiki collection, celebrating the defunct golden era bars of yesteryear.
The Details:
