Kelbo's brought the Polynesian fantasy to Los Angeles starting in the 1940s, earning a devoted following that lasted decades. Known across the city for habit-forming spareribs and tropical drinks, it was a tiki temple where everyday Angelenos escaped into something exotic. Places like Kelbo's didn't just serve food, they transported entire neighborhoods.
