Keokuk's Pirates took the field in 1947, bringing minor league baseball to a small Iowa river town steeped in Mississippi tradition. A community built along the bluffs claimed that club as its own. Having a team in organized ball meant a place that size belonged on the map. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
