Lawrence's Merry Macks took the field in 1926 as part of the New England League's Class B circuit. Massachusetts mill towns lived and died with their baseball clubs during that era. In a city built on textile labor, the Merry Macks gave working families something to cheer for beyond the factory walls. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Arched distressed white text reads "MERRY MACKS" above a vintage cartoon illustration of an anthropomorphic baseball wearing a cap and whistling musical notes, flanked by "LAWRENCE, MASS." and "CLASS B BASEBALL." Bold white block text reads "BALL CLUB" and "NEW ENGLAND LEAGUE" below. Two distressed stars flank "1926" at the bottom in weathered white ink.
