Our high quality unisex sweatshirts consist of a premium 8.5oz cotton/polyester blend with a classic crew neck and flattering fit.

Lincoln, Nebraska was a fast-growing prairie capital in 1906, and the city's Class A Western League club spent that one season carrying an unusual name. The team was christened the Ducklings after manager Ducky Holmes, a former big leaguer who had spent a decade in the National League before taking over in Lincoln. They finished second to a runaway Des Moines club, with first baseman Jack Thomas hitting .293 across 144 games. The Ducklings name was retired after that single season, replaced by the Treeplanters in 1907.

Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.

The Details:

Red and navy print built around an illustration of a cartoon duckling batter in an "L" ballcap, his wing wrapped around the bat handle, set beside a diamond-shaped "WESTERN LEAGUE" badge. The full inscription reads "Ducklings," "LINCOLN, NEBRASKA," "CLASS A BASEBALL," and "1906," with the team name in a sweeping navy script and the year in heavy red block. A row of alternating red and blue five-point stars runs across the base of the print, which carries a clean vintage finish.
