Mercury Bowl sat at 8825 E. Washington Blvd. serving highballs and rented shoes until somebody decided a self-storage facility was a better use of the land. Thirty-two lanes of atomic age cathedral, bulldozed so strangers could pay monthly to forget what's in their boxes. Part of our Vintage Los Angeles collection, featuring the iconic local landmarks of yesteryear.
The Details:
Navy line-art atom symbol sits atop a tall angular pylon with "BOWL" printed vertically in white on a navy banner. A large gold triangular pennant contains "MERCURY" in navy lettering, with "BOWL" in gold below and navy text reading "32 LANES," "8825 E.WASHINGTON BLVD.," and "PICO RIVERA, CALIF."
