New Haven's Black Crows took the field in 1909 as a Class B minor league outfit in the Connecticut State League. Small-city baseball was the soul of a community in that era. Before radio brought the majors into every home, teams like the Crows gave New Haven something to call its own. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
