Palomar Lanes stood on North Escondido Boulevard through the midcentury decades when bowling alleys anchored every Southern California suburb. Opening in the 1950s, it gave Escondido a gathering place that outlasted trends and generations. Some alleys were just lanes and shoes, but this one was a neighborhood institution. Part of our Retro Bowling collection, featuring the defunct alleys of yesteryear.
