Pawtucket fielded a Tigers club in the New England League starting in 1898, during an era when minor league ball was the lifeblood of small industrial cities across Rhode Island. Class B teams like this one gave mill towns their own brand of pride, long before television pulled attention toward the majors. Some of that grit never left the diamond. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
