Pendleton's Buckaroos joined the Western Tri-State League in 1912, bringing Class D baseball to rugged eastern Oregon. Already famous for its rodeo, Pendleton was a ranching town that lived and breathed toughness. A ballclub just gave folks one more reason to gather on summer evenings.
Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
