Philadelphia's Pub Tiki brought Polynesian paradise to the City of Brotherly Love during the height of America's tiki craze in the 1960s. Located on Walnut Street, this tropical hideaway transported patrons from the bustling downtown streets into a bamboo-lined world of rum cocktails and carved totems. The establishment became part of the nationwide tiki bar phenomenon that swept American cities, offering an exotic escape complete with mysterious drinks served in ceramic mugs and dim lighting that made every night feel like a South Pacific adventure. Like many of its era, Pub Tiki represented the post-war fascination with Polynesian culture that defined cocktail culture for an entire generation.
