PV Bowl stood as Watsonville's around-the-clock gathering place, a 24-lane house on Arthur Road that never locked its doors. Opening during the mid-century bowling boom of the 1950s, it gave California's central coast a place to belong at any hour. Some alleys were businesses. PV Bowl was a neighborhood. Part of our Retro Bowling collection, featuring the defunct alleys of yesteryear.
The Details:
White block letters "PV" overlap golden-yellow rectangles within a brown banner, with "Bowl" in white script to the right and a brown bowling ball labeled "24 LANES" balanced atop a bowling pin with retro starburst accents. Brown text below reads "580 ARTHUR ROAD WATSONVILLE, CALIF." in vintage casual lettering. Golden-yellow hand-drawn text at the bottom reads "OPEN 24 HOURS A DAY!"
