Rehoboth Beach fielded its Pirates in the Eastern Shore League starting in 1947, bringing Class D minor league ball to the Delaware coast. Small-town baseball clubs like this one gave coastal communities a sense of pride that ran deeper than the box score. Rehoboth's diamond days were brief, but they left a mark on the town's sporting memory. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
