Rio Grande Rios baseball club took the diamond in Salt Lake City around 1900, competing in the Utah-Idaho Intermountain League. Long before pro sports reached the mountain west, small-town clubs like these were the whole show. Saturday crowds came for the game and stayed because the team was theirs. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
