Opening in 1955 on the Las Vegas Strip, the Riviera rose nine stories as the boulevard's first high-rise. A city of desert motor courts was reaching upward, chasing something grander. Six decades of headliners and dreamers passed through its showroom and casino floor. Some places outlive their era, and the Riviera carried old Vegas until its final night in 2015.
