Roswell's Rockets took the field in the Longhorn League beginning in 1949, bringing minor league baseball to a small New Mexico city already steeped in desert mystique. Two years after the famous 1947 incident put Roswell on the map, baseball gave the town something else to rally around. Some clubs play games, others become part of a town's identity. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
