Sandusky's Sailors took the diamond in 1936, playing Class D ball in the Ohio State League along the shores of Lake Erie. Small-town minor league clubs like these were the lifeblood of summer in Depression-era Ohio. They gave working families something to cheer for when the world offered precious little else. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
